ISP3S — Innovative Solar Power Produce Preservation System

With R.D. Engineering College, Ghaziabad

Agriculture & Food Security

A solar-powered, adiabatic (evaporative) cooling chamber for preserving perishable produce in rural India — built to counter the estimated 40% of India's food that goes to waste. Reaches 10–15°C within 15 minutes and runs on 600–700W of solar power.

  • Mobile on wheels, hybrid 220V/solar power, fully modular components
  • Scalable from 0.5m³ to 4m³ inner chamber
  • Remote/programmable control of fans and pumps via phone or laptop
ISP3S

Adiabatic solar cooling

1.2–1.5 kWh/day

₹6,000–9,000/year to run

1–2 day install, fully mobile

CONVENTIONAL COLD STORAGE

Vapour-compression + diesel backup

80–120 kWh/day

₹2.5–5 lakh/year to run

3–6 month install, fixed structure

30–50×
cheaper to operate than conventional cold storage
100×
less energy used per day
